skating outside…in January…in CANADA!
YEAH..thats riight… we skated outside today after indoor practice! it was cold and windy…. the hamilton trail was full of crap but there is no snow to be seen! it was great to get back to skating outside concidering the last time i skated outdoors was a few weeks after i broke my toe in June! it felt great, i had fun but more importantly when aaron dropped me and i was all by myself i never once stopped skating or intensionally slow down. i could have waitted from andrew and jacky but i pushed myself and finished the trail by myself. i felt really good about that and really good about how i skated.
indoors was also good for me today…i’m feeling more comfortable again since coming back from all the LT. i finished warm up strong.. which i have not been able to do in the last two practice. for the 20 lap passing drill i was at the front the whole time, making passes, and having fun.
one problem right now is that i’m skating on skates that are a good 2 sizes too big, resulting into major and minor cuts. no problem.. it normal for me to skate with a lot of pain in my feet but now i have a rather large growth on the front of my ankle. i’m guessing this is a build up of scare tissue but i do know that its killing my foot. new skates are on the way soon…we will see how they stack up!
